What we do

Health And Safety Advice

In addition to our in house competent source of health and safety advice we have engaged a health and safety consultant to independently inspect our operations so that our employees and customers know that health and safety, at Norris, is not just a tick in the box.

Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS)

We are proud members of the FORS road safety scheme and have held Silver accreditation for over 5 years. We are committed to work within the FORS scheme to improve road safety, especially for vulnerable road users.

External Accreditations

We are proud members of the Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) and Considerate Constructors Scheme. All our drivers complete cycle awareness and other road safety training course in line with these schemes.

Health And Safety Training

All our employees are required to be inducted at the start of their employment and undergo a programme of regular training in health and safety topics. We also support our staff to attend recognised safety courses provided by accredited training providers.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

All employees are provided with correctly sourced and certified PPE, free of charge, to allow them to safely carry out their roles. This is replaced whenever it is necessary. On all our operational sites, we insist that visitors and other site users wear the correct PPE.

Vehicle Safety

Our vehicle fleet is regularly updated to take advantage of technological, environmental and safety advances. In addition our fleet has been fitted with additional safety features such as all-round CCTV and audible warning systems. All our vehicles are fitted with auto sheeting systems to remove the need for our employees to work at height, one of the leading causes of work place injuries.

Policy And Procedures

We have a health and safety policy, reviewed annually, which sets out our commitment to the correct resourcing of health and safety across the business. This policy is displayed at all our premises and notified to all staff. We have relevant procedures in place to set out the standards we expect of our employees.

Safe Systems Of Work

All our activities have been reviewed. From those reviews, risk assessments and method statement have been designed, implemented and all relevant staff have been trained on the information contained.

Safe Equipment

All equipment provided by the company is sourced from reputable suppliers and carries all relevant conformity markings. We carry out thorough examinations of all necessary equipment in line with legislation and maintain accurate records.
