Select Delivery Date
Our customers know us for reliable, fast delivery in South East London, Bromley and surrounding areas. You can choose a delivery date in advance or order same-day skip hire subject to availability and requirements.
If you want to place the skip on public land, you’ll have to take this into account as permit requirements may affect delivery times.
Fill Your Skip
Once the Norris team delivers the skip to your specified location, you can get to work loading your skip. Your skip must be level loaded and not overflowing, as Norris’ drivers will not be able to take overloaded skips away.
We Collect It
On your collection date, we will return to remove your skip and take your waste away. Each skip hire includes one collection and disposal, with slot exchanges available if you fill the skip sooner than expected.

Do I Need a Permit?
If a skip is placed on private land such as a garden or driveway, a permit is not needed.
If the skip is placed on public land, such as a road or parking space, the need for a permit varies per each council or local authority. We encourage you to enquire to your local council about a permit if the skip is being placed on public land.
Once you’ve booked your skip and told us where you want it to be placed, we can advise on the process and requirements for permits, parking suspensions or roadside equipment if needed.
Driveway vs Road Placement
Placing your skip on a driveway is usually the easiest option, as it avoids the need to apply and pay for a permit, which may delay delivery.
Certain councils also require extra equipment such as cones, lights or covers to be used if you place your skip on the road. By choosing to have your skip delivered on a driveway, you will avoid having to fulfil extra requirements from councils to have your skip placed on a road.

What Can Go in a Residential Skip?
Household Waste
General waste from residential projects is allowed, but food and household refuse are not accepted in your skip. This means that general ‘black bag waste’ such as nappies, sanitary items and food waste can’t go in a skip, but the following types of household waste can: Furniture, Carpets, Old timber, Packaging, Any other non-hazardous household clear-out waste
Garden Waste
Whilst garden waste is welcome in a skip, heavy waste such as soil, stones and rubble could affect your choice of skip size. If you need any help, our team are happy to help. Other garden waste that you can put in a skip includes: Branches, Plants, Fence panels, Decking, Sheds, General garden project waste
Renovation Waste
With renovation waste, plasterboard is the only thing that shouldn’t be mixed with general waste. Because of waste regulations and gypsum disposal requirements, we ask you to place it on top of the waste in your skip. This allows us to dispose of it separately and meet all necessary regulations.
Other renovation waste that is appropriate to go in a skip includes: Tiles, Timber, Units, Bricks, Flooring, Bathroom or kitchen refit materials

The size of skip that you need depends on the waste you wish to dispose of, its volume and its weight. As an average, the following amount of bin bags worth of waste is expected to fit in the following skips:

How Long Can I Keep a Skip?
The default hire period for residential skip hire is 14 days. However, if you need the skip for longer, we’re happy to provide as much flexibility as possible to suit your needs.
If a skip is full before the hire period ends, you’re also able to request early collection for your waste to be taken away sooner.
Can I Put a Skip on the Road?
Yes, you can put a skip on the road, but because it’s public land, you will need a permit from the local council. If you’re unsure how to do this, the Norris team are able to offer advice – just make sure you indicate that you wish for the skip to be delivered on a road during the booking process.
What Cannot Go in a Skip?
There are a few items that cannot be placed in a skip, as well as a list of items that would require an extra charge for disposal. The most common items that can’t go in a skip include:
